Fireflies Tour in Cherating

Summary: Had a wonderful experience with the firefly watching and mangrove discovery in Cherating. Everything was well organized, and the guide was knowledgeable. The fireflies were magical to watch, and the mangrove tour was peaceful and informative. Definitely worth the price and highly enjoyable!

Summary: 1)There are MANY FireFly tours in Malaysia; Reckon this is the BEST and REAL FireFlies. SOME FireFly tours are FAKE, use LED lights as firefly, as in MUAR River Firefly tour !! 2)The tour guides are very helpful and friendly; a briefing in firefly was given prior the tour, and improve one's knowledge on firefly. 3)The cruise down Cherating river is about 30 minutes. The guide used his special light and managed to induced REAL Firefly to fly to the visitors on the Boat. This is MAGICAL !! 4)MANY Stops on different part of the Cherating river and Guide did his Magical calling for the firefly to fly towards the visitors, Which were REAL CHARM !! 5)Had visited many countries (India. Vietnam. Taiwan....) on firefly tours, this is the BEST, as Guide can Engaged with the firefly !!

Summary: Phone number is wrong. Pined location is not accurate. Hard to find taxi. Not easy for foreigners. But the firefly activity itself was great.

Summary: Hafiz is very passionate about fireflies and it shows in the pre-boat talk he gave. The talk was short, entertaining and informative. We didn’t really know what to expect on the boat ride, but when we saw the fireflies in the trees like Christmas lights, we were excited. Then Hafiz did his magic and they flew towards the boat like embers in the night. It was magical! We even manage to have a few land on our hands, clothing and faces. So surreal. I highly recommend this experience when in the area. You shouldn’t miss it! Also don’t put on any insect repellent before the trip, as surprise, surprise, fireflies are insects and you definitely wouldn’t want to repel these fantastic creatures. Note: don’t take any pictures using your phone as it will distract the fireflies and give you or the other passengers temporary night blindness as the surroundings are so dark. Just enjoy the experience.

Summary: I can’t say enough about Hafiz firefly tour experience… it was out of the world and something that I have never experienced before… you need to see it to believe it… Hafiz was so friendly and accommodating… we also took the mangrove tour from him… what a remarkable experience !

Summary: We booked through whatsapp via their number in Facebook. It was RM45 per person The waiting area was well lit up, air conditioned, alot of parking available and toilets. Hafiz gave us a 20 minute intro to fireflies, how the male and females light up differently. He is a very charismatic person! Then we got into the boats, very well maintained boats, life jackets and boarding platform. Don't worry if you arent in the same boat as Hafiz, as he will call the fireflies to every boat! We managed to get a few fireflies to land on our fingers and it was truly a magical feeling when he calls them towards the boat. Even though it was dark, we felt very safe during the entire tour, so do book it without hesitation!

Summary: It was fantastic out on the boats to see the fireflies. Mr. Hafiz is very knowledgeable and provides a lot of information about the fireflies themselves, including the chemical that causes them to light up! You will get up close and personal to the fireflies and it is very tranquil out on the river at night seeing the stars as well. I would highly recommend doing this tour while you are in Cherating.

Summary: Great outing of around 1 hour seeing the fireflies coming towards you. The guide Mr Hafiz is a passionate firefly researcher. Note : no use of cameras to not disturb the habitat of fireflies

Summary: Passing through Cherating it was impossible to miss this tour. It's like a little childhood dream come true. Lots of poetry and magic... Hafiz is passionate about explaining the fascinating life of fireflies. To see with family or between lovers!
